Monsoon's 18th Birthday

We're finally legal! We opened Monsoon restaurant on February 21st, 1999. There really wasn't anybody else doing elevated Vietnamese cuisine in Seattle at the time, and our tiny spot on the east slope of Capitol Hill quickly became a very popular dining destination—we often competed against our neighbor across the street (King Fish Cafe) to see who could get the longest line out the door. The menu has changed over the years, and we've added a cocktail lounge and a rooftop patio—but a lot has stayed the same too—especially our commitment to sourcing local ingredients, maintaining the award-winning wine list, and catering to our neighborhood customers who have been here since day one.

To celebrate 18 years of Vietnamese food on Capitol Hill, we are offering a special birthday menu that will be available from February 21st to February 28th. This menu features a handful of Monsoon standards as well as a couple of revived classics from the original 1999 menu. You can order any two of these items for $18 as well as a half Dungeness Crab, also for $18. To finish things off, a complimentary slice of Monsoon's (now famous) Banana Cake with Coconut will be offered to each table.

Celebrate 18 years with us at Monsoon on Capitol Hill during the dinner hour beginning Tuesday, February 21st through the end of the month. If you are on the east side, Monsoon Bellevue is also offering the $18 Dungeness Crab special as well as the complimentary Banana Cake for each table.

Note: This menu is only available during dine-in dinner service.
Sorry, no to go orders.

A Journey Through France : Wine Dinner

Join us and the folks from the Vin2U Wine Group as we follow the route of the Mistral Winds as we tour France's countryside from the Northern limits of vine production in the world-famous sparking wine-region of Champagne, to the south with fossilized, oyster-beds of Chablis's salinity-laden Chardonnays in Burgundy. Further south still we visit the often misunderstood Gamay Noir's of Southern Burgundy's Beaujolais region and continue south passed Lyon to the sun-bleached Mediterranean in the Rhone Valley where we explore the appellations of Gigondas and Vaqueyras.
